🌅 My Realistic School Morning Routine as a Mom 🎒☕️

School mornings… you either love them or survive them. 😂🙈

If you’re picturing a peaceful morning with everyone dressed, breakfast finished, hair perfectly brushed, and bags waiting by the door — I’m here to tell you: that is NOT my house. 😂

Here’s what a realistic school morning looks like for me as a mom. ❤️

⏰ 6:00 AM — My alarm goes off

I wake up and immediately think, “Just five more minutes…” 😴😂

Of course, those five minutes somehow turn into ten, but eventually I get up, open the curtains, make the bed (most days 😉), and head straight for the coffee machine. ☕️

Because honestly… coffee first, everything else second. 😂

🥪 6:30 AM — Lunchbox & breakfast duty

Next comes the lunchbox marathon. 🥪🍎🧃

I’m packing snacks, making sandwiches, filling water bottles, and trying to remember who likes what today. 😅

Breakfast is usually something quick — cereal, toast, fruit, or whatever I can get onto a plate before someone announces:

“Mum, I’m not hungry!” 🤦‍♀️😂

👕 7:00 AM — Wake the kids

And now the real fun begins. 😂

“Good morning, sweetheart!” ❤️

“Wake up!”

“Come on, we’re going to be late!”

“PLEASE PUT YOUR SOCKS ON!” 🧦🤣

Some mornings they jump out of bed ready to go.

Other mornings, getting dressed feels like negotiating an international peace treaty. 😂

🪥 7:20 AM — The bathroom battle

Teeth brushed? 🪥
Hair brushed? 💇‍♀️
Face washed?
Shoes on?

At least one of these questions gets answered with:

“I forgot!” 😂

And somehow we’re looking for a missing shoe five minutes before we need to leave. 👟🙃

🎒 7:40 AM — The final checklist

Backpacks? 🎒✅
Lunchboxes? 🥪✅
Water bottles? 💧✅
Homework? 📚
Jacket? 🧥
Shoes? 👟
Everyone actually in the car? 🚗😂

I do one final sweep of the house because there is always something left behind.

🚗 8:00 AM — Out the door!

We finally make it out.

Sometimes we leave early.
Sometimes we leave exactly on time.
And sometimes… we’re running down the street like we’re competing in the Olympics. 😂🏃‍♀️💨

But eventually, we arrive at school, usually with a quick hug, a kiss, and a:

“Have a great day! I love you!” ❤️

And just like that… the morning chaos is over.

☕️ My little moment of peace

Once the kids are at school, I finally take a deep breath. 😌

I grab another coffee, tidy up the kitchen, and enjoy a few quiet moments before the next part of the day begins.

Is my morning routine perfect?

Absolutely not. 😂

Is it organized every single day?

Definitely not. 🙈

But it’s ours.

There are messy breakfasts, missing socks, forgotten homework, sleepy faces, lots of rushing… and somehow, lots of love in between. ❤️

Because motherhood isn’t about having perfect mornings. It’s about showing up, doing your best, and getting everyone where they need to be — even when you’re running on coffee and 5 hours of sleep. ☕️😂

Here’s to all the moms surviving school mornings one cup of coffee at a time! ☕️🙌❤️
