{"id":1900,"date":"2026-09-19T10:06:17","date_gmt":"2026-09-19T14:06:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/basicmom.blog\/?p=1900"},"modified":"2026-09-26T12:31:51","modified_gmt":"2026-09-26T16:31:51","slug":"life-with-school-kids","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/basicmom.blog\/index.php\/2026\/09\/19\/life-with-school-kids\/","title":{"rendered":"Life with School Kids \ud83c\udf92\u2728"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"p3\">Life with school kids is a little bit of everything \u2014 <strong>busy, noisy, messy, exhausting, hilarious, and incredibly precious.<\/strong> \u2764\ufe0f<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"p3\">Mornings start with a countdown. \u23f0<br \/>\u201cGet dressed!\u201d<br \/>\u201cBrush your teeth!\u201d \ud83e\udea5<br \/>\u201cWhere are your shoes?\u201d \ud83d\udc5f<br \/>\u201cDid you pack your school bag?\u201d \ud83c\udf92<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"p3\">And somehow, despite saying the same things every single morning, we still end up rushing out the door with one child looking for a missing sock and another suddenly remembering they need a special craft project <em>today<\/em>. \ud83d\ude02<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"p3\">Then comes homework. \ud83d\udcda\u270f\ufe0f<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"p3\">There are spelling words to practise, maths problems to solve, books to read, school forms to sign, and approximately 47 pencils that mysteriously disappear every week. \ud83d\ude05<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"p3\">Some afternoons are calm and productive. Others involve tired children, tired parents, and the question:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"p4\"><strong>\u201cDo we really have to do homework?\u201d<\/strong><br \/>Yes.<br \/><strong>\u201cEven today?\u201d<\/strong><br \/>Also yes. \ud83d\ude02<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"p3\">But somewhere between the school runs, packed lunches, forgotten water bottles, playdates, sports practices, and bedtime negotiations, there are the moments that make it all worthwhile. \ud83e\udd70<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"p3\">The random stories they tell at dinner. \ud83c\udf5d<br \/>The drawings they proudly bring home. \ud83c\udfa8<br \/>The hugs after a difficult day. \ud83e\udd17<br \/>The giggles that come from absolutely nowhere. \ud83d\ude02<br \/>The little conversations at bedtime when suddenly they decide it\u2019s the perfect time to tell you <em>everything<\/em>. \ud83c\udf19\ud83d\udc95<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"p3\">Life with school kids isn\u2019t always easy.
