Let\u2019s be honest: cleaning with a toddler and a baby at home is less about keeping the house perfect<\/em> and more about keeping it functional<\/em>. \ud83d\ude02<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Some days I get loads done. Other days, I\u2019m proud if everyone is fed, the laundry is vaguely under control, and the floor is visible. \ud83d\ude05<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Here\u2019s what a typical cleaning day looks like for me. \ud83c\udfe1\u2728<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\ud83c\udf05 Morning Reset<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Once we\u2019re up and breakfast is done, I try to do a quick kitchen reset.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2615 Clear the breakfast dishes
\ud83e\uddfd Wipe down the table and counters
\ud83e\uddf9 Quick sweep around the kitchen
\ud83d\udecf\ufe0f Make the beds (or at least pull the blankets up \ud83d\ude02)
\ud83e\uddfa Start one load of laundry<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I don\u2019t aim for spotless. I just like starting the day with the main areas feeling a little less chaotic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\ud83e\uddf8 Mid-Morning: Toddler + Baby Life<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

This is usually when the house gets messy again\u2026 almost immediately. \ud83d\ude02<\/p>\n\n\n\n

While the baby is playing or napping and my toddler is occupied, I\u2019ll tackle one small job:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\ud83e\uddf9 Vacuum the main living areas
\ud83e\uddfc Wipe fingerprints off doors\/cabinets
\ud83e\uddf8 Pick up toys
\ud83d\udebd Quick bathroom clean
\ud83c\udf31 Water plants if needed<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The key for me is one thing at a time<\/strong>. I don\u2019t try to deep-clean the entire house while supervising two tiny humans. That would be a recipe for frustration. \ud83d\ude05<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\ud83e\uddfa Laundry\u2026 The Never-Ending Story<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Laundry gets its own category because, with little ones, it basically deserves one. \ud83d\ude02<\/p>\n\n\n\n

My goal is usually one load a day<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u27a1\ufe0f Wash
\u27a1\ufe0f Dry
\u27a1\ufe0f Fold
\u27a1\ufe0f Put away<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And if I only manage the first two steps? That\u2019s okay too. \ud83d\ude43<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sometimes the clean laundry lives in a basket for a day or two. We survive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\ud83c\udf7d\ufe0f After Lunch<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Lunch somehow creates an entire second round of dishes. \ud83d\ude05<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So I do another quick reset:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\ud83c\udf7d\ufe0f Load\/unload the dishwasher
\ud83e\uddfd Wipe the high chair
\ud83e\uddf9 Sweep under the table
\ud83e\uddfc Wipe kitchen surfaces
\ud83e\uddf8 Quick toy pickup<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I also try to involve my toddler in the cleanup. It may take twice as long, but we\u2019re learning that cleaning up is just part of life. \ud83e\udd70<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\ud83d\ude34 During Nap Time<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

If both kids happen to sleep at the same time\u2026 \ud83d\ude4f\ud83d\ude02<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I have a choice:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Clean OR sit down.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

And honestly? Sometimes I choose the sofa. \u2615\ud83d\udecb\ufe0f<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If I have the energy, I might do a slightly bigger task like:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2728 Clean the bathroom
\u2728 Mop the floors
\u2728 Change bed sheets
\u2728 Dust
\u2728 Organize one small area<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But I don\u2019t believe every nap has to become a cleaning marathon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\ud83c\udf19 Evening Reset<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

After dinner, I like doing a final little reset so I don\u2019t wake up to yesterday\u2019s chaos<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\ud83c\udf7d\ufe0f Kitchen cleaned
\ud83e\uddfd Counters wiped
\ud83e\uddf9 Kitchen floor swept
\ud83e\uddf8 Toys back in their baskets
\ud83e\uddfa Laundry put away (if I\u2019m feeling ambitious \ud83d\ude02)
\ud83d\udecb\ufe0f Living room tidied<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Then I\u2019m DONE. \ud83d\ude4c<\/p>\n\n\n\n

No scrubbing baseboards at 10 p.m. over here.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\ud83e\uddfc What I Clean Every Day vs. Weekly<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Daily:<\/strong>
\ud83e\uddfd Kitchen surfaces
\ud83c\udf7d\ufe0f Dishes
\ud83e\uddf9 High-traffic floors
\ud83d\udebd Quick bathroom touch-up when needed
\ud83e\uddf8 Toy pickup
\ud83e\uddfa One laundry load<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A few times a week:<\/strong>
\ud83e\uddfc Bathrooms
\ud83e\uddf9 Thorough vacuuming
\ud83e\uddfd Mopping
\ud83d\udecf\ufe0f Changing sheets<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When I get around to it:<\/strong>
\u2728 Deep cleaning
\u2728 Decluttering
\u2728 Organizing cupboards
\u2728 Those mysterious corners that somehow collect everything \ud83d\ude02<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\ud83e\udd0d The Biggest Lesson I\u2019ve Learned<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Having a clean home with a toddler and baby doesn\u2019t mean having a spotless home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There will be toys everywhere. There will be crumbs on the floor. There will be laundry waiting to be folded. There will probably be a random sock in the kitchen. \ud83e\udde6\ud83d\ude02<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And that\u2019s okay.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

My goal isn\u2019t perfect<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It\u2019s simply to create a home that feels comfortable, clean enough, and peaceful enough for our little family. \ud83c\udfe1\ud83e\udd0d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Some days the house looks amazing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Some days it looks like two tiny tornadoes came through.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Both are normal. \ud83c\udf2a\ufe0f\ud83d\udc76\ud83e\uddf8<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And tomorrow, we\u2019ll just reset and start again.<\/strong> \u2728<\/p>\n\n\n\n
